JAIPUR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sainik School in Jaipur on Monday. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari was also present at the occasion.
While addressing an event after the inauguration, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the Union government’s decision to open 100 new Sainik schools in Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, the government has decided to start 100 Sainik Schools…The Sainik Schools used to be established and run by the joint practices of central and state governments. But these new schools will be established and run according to the PPP Model (private, public, partnership) …I have put the ‘private’ word first, as the private sector is playing a major role in the country,” Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
He further underlined the significance of the private sector in the growth of the country.
“Private sector contribution is growing and 50% of India’s workforce is in the private sector. Private sector contribution in manufacturing and services. Private sector is in the driver seat,” Singh added.
The defence minister said the students of Sainik School would shine in any field they chose, giving examples of the current Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff both of whom are alumni of Sainik School Rewa.
“Sainik school gave many notable alumni —Army chief Upendra Dwivedi and Navy chief Dinesh Tripathi studied in Sainik school. Students from Sainik School can enter any walk of life and field,” the Defence Minister said.
Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, MP Manju Sharma, former MP Ramcharan Bohra, former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore were also present in the program.
The new Sainik School in Jaipur is part of the Government’s vision to set up 100 new Sainik Schools across the country in partnership with NGOs, state governments and private schools.
