UPSC CDS 2024 Final Result: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2024. A total of 237 candidates have qualified for various defence courses, including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA).
The examination was conducted in April 2024, followed by interviews held by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence.The successful candidates will now be admitted to the 158th (DE) Course at the IMA, Dehradun, the INA at Ezhimala, Kerala, and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad for the No. 217 Flying (Pre-Flying) Training Course.
The final merit list includes 158 candidates for the Indian Military Academy, 44 for the Indian Naval Academy, and 35 for the Air Force Academy. Some candidates have appeared in more than one list, as they were qualified for multiple courses.
According to the Government, the vacancies are as follows: 100 for the IMA (including 13 seats reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Army Wing holders), 32 for the INA (including 6 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Naval Wing holders), and 32 for the Air Force Academy (with 3 seats reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Air Wing holders).
The written examination initially saw 1954 candidates qualifying for the IMA, 586 for the INA, and 628 for the Air Force Academy. The final selection was based on the SSB interviews.
It should be noted that the medical examination results were not considered for this final merit list. Additionally, the verification of the candidates’ date of birth and educational qualifications is still underway, making the current results provisional. Successful candidates are required to submit their original certificates to the respective military headquarters as per their preferences.
