The Financial Times released the Business Schools Ranking 2024 for Masters in Management courses on September 8, 2024. This annual ranking serves as a guide for students seeking to enroll in top global business schools, offering insight into the most esteemed programs for building a robust foundation in the business world. In 2024, the FT list was compiled by evaluating 141 MiM programmes from around the world.In the making of the list, factors such as weighted salary, value for money, career progress, aims achieved, careers service, alumni network, employment at three months, female faculty and students, women on board, international faculty and students, international board, work mobility, international course experience, faculty with PhDs, ESG & Net Zero teaching, and carbon footprint.
According to the eligibility criteria stated by the Financial Times to qualify for rankings, business schools must provide full-time, cohort-based programs accredited by AACSB or Equis and tailored for students with little to no work experience to be eligible for the rankings. These rankings emphasize general management programs over specialized ones.
This year University of St. Gallen in Switzerland has bagged the first position in the top business schools ranking for MiM courses, followed by Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris securing second position, and Institut Europeen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) nestled in France ranking at third. FT Rankings 2024 vs 2023: A comparative analysis

In the 2023 Financial Times Rankings, Columbia Business School in the US claimed the top spot, followed by INSEAD in France and IESE Business School in Spain. This year, the University of St. Gallen has made an impressive leap from 59th last year to secure the 1st position, pushing Columbia Business School down. HEC Paris has also shown notable progress, rising to 2nd place from 17th. INSEAD, which was ranked 2nd last year, now holds the 3rd position. Edhec Business School too has demonstrated exceptional advancement, climbing to 4th place from 47th in 2023. Surprisingly, Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Antai, which was not in the top 100 last year, has achieved a 5th-place ranking this year. ESCP Business School has also significantly improved its standing, moving up from 27th last year to 6th this year. London Business School has made a remarkable jump to 6th place from 16th in 2023. EMLyon Business School has seen substantial growth, rising to 8th from 76th last year. Nova School of Business and Economics, which was not listed in 2023, has entered the top 10 at 8th place. Essec Business School has also made significant strides, advancing from 70th last year to 10th place in the latest rankings.
