Ashoka University has announced the opening of admissions for the 2025-26 cohort of the prestigious Young India Fellowship (YIF), with scholarships ranging from 25% to 100%. The fellowship, a year-long postgraduate diploma, aims to equip students with multidisciplinary learning. The admissions process opened on October 15, 2024, and candidates can apply by January 5, 2025 for the first round of applications.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Ashoka University is offering generous scholarships for the Class of 2025-26.All selected Fellows will receive at least a 25% tuition waiver, with many eligible for full scholarships covering tuition, residence, meals, and stipends. In the previous cohort, 81% of the Fellows received partial or full funding, and 60% benefitted from a full tuition waiver. With additional support from HDFC Bank, the university aims to make the Fellowship accessible to students from diverse backgrounds. According to Pramath Raj Sinha, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Ashoka University, the increased scholarships reflect the university’s mission to attract the best talent.
Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
The YIF is open to individuals of all age groups and nationalities who have a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline by July 2025. Final-year students are also eligible to apply. The selection process evaluates academic performance, leadership potential, and the applicant’s ability to think critically. Applications will be reviewed in two rounds, and candidates can apply early to participate in rolling personal interviews.
Candidates can apply via apply.ashoka.edu.in and shortlisted individuals will be invited for interviews. Some may also be considered for the prestigious Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship, which offers full tuition support. Admitted and waitlisted candidates can apply for need-based financial aid, offering full waivers, depending on financial circumstances.

Fellowship Curriculum and Mentorship
Launched in 2011, the YIF is Ashoka University’s flagship programme, designed to develop future leaders through interdisciplinary learning. The programme includes around 20 courses across various disciplines, real-world projects, and mentorship from experts.
